From inside the apartment, the door will always remain openable using a door handle.

Going Out Briefly (e.g., for Smoking)
When you step outside and the apartment door closes, it will lock automatically. To get back in, simply enter your Entry Code on the PIN Pad.

If your children or anyone else are at home, the lights and blinds will stay exactly as they were — nothing changes. The system only adjusts lights and blinds when you leave using Exit & Arm, which secures the apartment for a longer absence.
