PIN-based access is not acceptable for larger hotels
Guests need to access restaurants, spa, wellness, parking, and multiple doors. Using a PIN code every time is slow and not hotel-standard.

NFC Hotel Cards issued via a central self-check-in terminal.
JobelHome triggers the Loxone NFC learning API and stores the card UUID in the guest profile, enabling PIN + NFC access everywhere.

A professional, frictionless hotel experience comparable to major hospitality brands — faster movement through the building, fewer complaints, and higher guest satisfaction.

Loxone’s “one NFC ID per user regulation” limitation prevents multi-guest stays
Loxone allows only one NFC Code Touch ID per user → families, groups, or multiple guests cannot each receive their own card.

JobelHome creates one Loxone user per guest, automatically and centrally.
Each guest receives an individually learned NFC card with their own access permissions.

Supports real hotel workflows (2–6 guests per booking), reduces reception workload, and ensures correct access rights for every individual guest.

NFC cards are not transferable between Miniservers
Testing shows the same physical card produces different NFC IDs on each Miniserver unless they are in a trust.
A card learned on Miniserver A will not work on Miniserver B.

Centralized user creation on the common Miniserver, with trust mirroring to room Miniservers.
Card learning happens only once and is then synchronized to all trusted Miniservers.

Reliable access across multi-floor or multi-building hotels, fewer support issues, and a stable architecture for scaling to larger properties.

Distributed user creation (per room MS) breaks the access architecture
Creating guest users on individual room Miniservers leads to:
– different NFC IDs per MS
– missing user attributes on the central MS
– broken attribute mirroring
– inconsistent access rights

JobelHome enforces a clear architecture:
All guest users are created only on the central Miniserver.
Access rights and NFC IDs are then synced to room Miniservers via trust or API.

Stable and predictable automation, cleaner user management, and far fewer edge cases during check-in and check-out.

Trust mirroring does not sync all Loxone user attributes
Attributes like NFC Code Touch ID, createdAt, updatedAt, and custom fields do not always propagate between Miniservers.
This makes cross-Miniservers access unreliable.

JobelHome performs an additional verification and synchronization cycle.
If NFC attributes are missing on a trusted Miniserver, JobelHome pushes them via the Loxone API to ensure identical information everywhere.

Consistent data across all devices → fewer errors, fewer door access issues, and a uniform guest experience across the entire property.

No unified location to learn or print NFC cards
Hotels want a central self-service point where guests can print their own card.
The current Loxone Campus setup proves the concept but requires additional components:

  • NFC Code Touch for programming
  • Card feeder
  • Nano 2 Relay Tree for opening/closing the feeder box
  • Unknown communication interface (likely not HTTP)

JobelHome integrates fully with the self-check-in terminal flow:

  • Guest enters with PIN

  • Prints their NFC card

  • Card feeder outputs card

  • NFC Code Touch learns card via API

  • UUID is stored in the guest profile automatically

A fully automated check-in experience without reception staff — scalable, fast, and ideal for hotels that want to reduce front-desk workload.

NFC card IDs differ per Miniserver when not in trust
Tests show that the same physical card produces completely different IDs across independent Miniservers.

JobelHome ensures the NFC tag is always learned in the trusted environment of the central MS.
Once mirrored, the ID remains consistent across all connected Miniservers.

Eliminates one of the largest technical blockers in multi-building setups and ensures access works everywhere from day one.

How JobelHome’s NFC Access System Works with Loxone

  1. Booking arrives

JobelHome creates one user per guest on the central MS.

  1. Guest enters the building with a PIN

Secure, temporary access until the card is printed.

  1. Guest prints an NFC card at the terminal

The card UUID is automatically learned and stored.

  1. NFC attributes sync to all trusted room Miniservers

Guests now have full access to room, wellness, parking, and all common areas.

  1. At checkout, JobelHome automatically deactivates all users

Cards become invalid and rooms return to default automation states.
